Great America is Chicago's local option for an amusement park. It's a really sad, hostile place that has decent rides for young children so I am giving this place two stars but as a thinking, well-educated adult I can tell you this place stinks literally and figuratively. My family visited Six Flags Great America for the first time last week. We are coaster enthusiasts and visit many parks throughout the season.

Even though it was midweek, the park was extremely crowded. We were shocked that the lines for most of the rides, even the small family rides, were in excess of 90 minutes! The food options were excellent, that is if you're willing to wait in line! A wide variety of food, way more than the average amusement park. All the park employees we encountered were helpful and friendly. The waterpark was above average also. Not as crowded as the ride park, plenty of seating and fun water rides for all ages!
Great rides for kids and a nice variety of food. Kids loved the go karts. Staff members were friendly and park was very clean. This park is really clean and well maintained. Good selection of rides for everyone. Parking is really expensive so get the Gold Pass if you are going to visit more than once. If you are going to eat there, just go in knowing the food is expensive. I had the Cuban sandwich and my son had the Brisket. These were delicious and very filling so I think they were worth the money.. Also, the Scenic Railroad was a nice way to cool off and relax and learn some interesting information about the park.
I will be brief If you like amusement parks Good food and some great thrill rides.
Goliath is a wonderful roller coaster and hopefully the line will get shorter as time goes along. X Flight is also great and I am surprised that it does not rank higher in coaster polls. I really liked it! The food options are many and are the usual big park prices I have been to many Six Flags Parks and they are all unique and different. This park is not overwhelmingly huge and you have a nice selection of adult and kid friendly rides. Parking is expensive And please have your discount coupons ready. Even though it's seemingly getting pricier by the second to get out to Six Flags 25 bucks to park!?!?!
A couple of tips that you should ALL take to heart: 1. Go ahead and find the southern entrance to the park, the one on Washington Street. Along with having far less traffic and a quicker line to enter the park, you'll also drive right under and through the American Eagle - watch your kids' eyes light up when you go through it!

Unless you're a sucker for buying overpriced food in the park, I would strongly suggest packing a big lunch and eating in the parking lot. We managed to only wait 20 minutes for Goliath this way. The rest of the day, the line for that was easily in the minute range. There ARE deals to be found online I managed to find one that reduced my ticket by a good 30 bucks, so take the time and see if you can find one that works!
NEVER buy tickets at the park. You're just giving your money away that way. Do the research, find those codes, and save some dough. Overall, the park was pretty darn clean, we never saw any line jumpers, and aside from some long lines on a Monday in July, we had a great time. We didn't experience any closed rides, the ride operators all seemed to be on their game, and we'll enjoy heading back there next year.

Excellent 1, Very good Average Poor I do love a bit of romance in my reading too, and its just perfect here. Enough to add interest but not to dominate the story. Stars: great book, cracking read, full five stars. Tags: adventure , Colleen Cowley. You are commenting using your WordPress. You are commenting using your Google account. I've always Needed to read and we had few books when i was a child hence my penchant for reading anything including adverts then I review mainly contemporary, erotic and paranormal romance books though dystopian and urban fantasy also appeal. I'm currently rated around the mark on amazon. I try to keep them structured and to say what I do and don't like about a book so other readers can use my review as a guide to whether they may enjoy the book.
